TORONTO, ONTARIO – Nieuport Aviation is pleased to announce that Chief Strategy and Development Officer Jennifer Quinn has been awarded a 2024 Report on Business magazine Best Executive Award.
The Report on Business magazine Best Executive Awards is an annual editorial initiative which celebrates excellence among non-CEO leaders at the SVP, EVP and C-suite (or equivalent) levels. The winners chosen for 2024 represent exceptional leadership in six functional areas: Finance; Human Resources; Operations; Sales and Marketing; Technology; as well as Sustainability and DEI.
“Jennifer joined Nieuport at the height of the pandemic, when Nieuport Aviation faced one of the most challenging times in its history,” said Neil Pakey, President and CEO, Nieuport Aviation. “Leading the Nieuport operations team through the resumption of service, she worked closely with airport partners and airlines to offer passengers and staff a seamless and safe transition back to regular operations.”
While managing the return to service, Ms. Quinn also maintained a long-term focus on the business, spearheading Nieuport’s efforts, in partnership with PortsToronto, to deliver a U.S. Customs Preclearance facility at the airport. The project is on track to open next year and will result in more U.S. destinations to enhance passenger choice, increased contribution to Canada’s economy, and the facilitation of more than 32,000 jobs across the economy.
Ms. Quinn is also the executive lead for Nieuport’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts, making the company’s contribution to a cleaner, greener and quieter airport a reality. During her tenure, Nieuport’s industry benchmark Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) score—a quantitative insight into ESG performance in absolute terms—has improved year over year from 77% to 85%. As part of her work, Ms. Quinn is leading the electrification of the airport’s shuttle bus service to downtown Toronto, which will remove approximately 2,100 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year by providing a clean transit option for passengers and staff alike.
“I’d like to congratulate Jennifer on this well-deserved recognition from the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business,” added Mr. Pakey. “I appreciate—as does everyone at Nieuport—her strong contributions to the business across multiple areas.”
“I’m honoured to be recognized by the Report on Business Best Executive Awards,” said Ms. Quinn. “This recognition is shared with the entire Nieuport Aviation team and our airport and airline partners who worked in partnership to keep passengers and employees safe. Together, we’ve emerged from the pandemic stronger, more prepared, and with a crystallized vision to grow the airport’s already significant contribution to the city, the province, and the country.”
The Globe and Mail launched the Report on Business magazine Best Executive Awards in 2020. Winning executives for 2024 were chosen after a call for nominations for leaders at Canadian public and private businesses, not-for-profits, institutions and/or academic institutions, and at the Report on Business newsroom. Nominations were assessed by the Report on Business editorial team based on career background, leadership style, achievements, and impact.
